LIFE AT GRACE PARK ETNS

Our lovely school, Grace Park ETNS is located within the DCU All Hallows’ campus. We are very lucky to have a state-of-the-art building, opened in October 2020.
We are delighted to play an important role in your child's early educational journey and we look forward to working together with all of our families.
Grace Park ETNS was established in 2016 and serves the communities of Dublin 1, Dublin 3, Drumcondra and Marino.
Here at Grace Park ETNS, we cherish each individual and provide a caring, creative, holistic and safe environment for all. As an equality-based school we give high regard to parental and community involvement. We pride ourselves in our Educate Together Ethos and the development of all children to be ethical, moral and just citizens.

OUR HISTORY

Heading 1
In 2016, a new adventure in education began. In a cluster of small prefabs on the ChildVision site at Grace Park Road, the school opened its doors to just 28 bright-eyed Junior Infants. Born from the energy of a growing community and the rising demand for this unique model of learning in North Dublin, it marked the very first step in a journey that continues to unfold

Humble Beginnings

Heading 1
The journey entered an exciting new chapter with the development of plans for a bright, modern purpose built school building.
Set within the historic DCU All Hallows Campus, the new school will be full of light, sustainable, and ready to support the next generation of learners.

New Build

Heading 1
The next stage of our journey began in late 2019 with the first steps in the construction of a bright, modern three-storey school. With 16 classrooms, a spacious hall, and plenty of room to learn and grow.
The school combined timber, glass, limestone, and brick, with tall larch louvres adding style and shade to the classrooms.
Light-filled and sustainable, it created the perfect environment for children to thrive while being respectful of it's historic surroundings.

Construction Begins

Heading 1
The Time had Come!!!
In October 2020, construction was complete, and the school’s exciting move into its new home began. The bright, modern classrooms, spacious hall, and welcoming spaces were ready to greet our students, marking the start of an inspiring new chapter in the life of the school.

OUR ETHOS

Our school is an Educate Together School, guided by the four key principles: child-centered, co-educational, democratic, and equality-based.
We work together to Learn Together to Live Together and live by our motto: “No Child an Outsider.”
We follow the same national curriculum and governance rules as other primary schools in Ireland, and are funded in the same way. But for us, ethos isn’t just a set of principles — it’s the atmosphere we create every day. We strive to make our school a happy, welcoming place for children, parents, staff, and visitors alike. Everyone is encouraged to be their true self, and each person is accepted and cherished for who they are. Children do not wear uniforms, and all adults and children use first names, helping to foster a friendly, inclusive, and respectful community.
Some people think Educate Together schools don’t recognize religion, but that’s not the case! We respect all faiths and none, and aim to teach children about different ways of life so that everyone can understand each other and live in harmony. Through our Learn Together Ethical Education Programme, children explore Justice and Equality, Morality and Spirituality, Ethics and the Environment, and Belief Systems.
Every day, we aim to be kind and caring, supporting one another in everything we do. We use phrases like “Assume honourable intentions” to remind ourselves that most people act in good faith, and we practice Unconditional Positive Regard for each other, fostering a truly compassionate and understanding community.

Next Generation EU
For a stronger, more resilient Europe
This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This grant was used to fund ICT and STEM initiatives in Grace Park ETNS.

Berry Street
At Grace Park ETNS, we are proud to be embedding the Berry Street Education Model across our school. This approach helps us create a safe, supportive, and positive environment where every child can thrive.
Since 2021, our teachers and ANAs have been training in Berry Street practices, and now we are bringing them into daily routines, relationships, and our new Relationships First Policy.
At its heart, Berry Street is about kindness, respect, and understanding. It takes a trauma-informed approach, meaning we recognise that some children may have faced difficult experiences. By responding with empathy and consistency, we help all our pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
