Parent Teacher Association
The school has an active and engaged Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The purpose of the PTA is to provide a structure through which the parents and guardians of children attending Grace Park Educate Together National School can work together for the best possible education for their children. The Parent Teacher Association works with the Principal, staff and Board of Management to build effective partnership between home and school. The PTA is a support for parents in the school.
The PTA suggests and/organizes extra-curricular activities – while these events are aimed at developing the school community they are also used to raise money for the school (e.g. Bake Sale). The PTA can invite speakers to address the parents on issues which are topical or relevant e.g. talks on internet safety.
All parents or guardians of children attending Grace Park Educate Together National School will be deemed to be members of the Parent Teacher Association.
At the AGM each year a PTA Committee is elected – the Committee comprises:
-
Representatives from each class
-
Parent nominees who have elected to the Board of Management
-
Teachers’ representative
-
Chair, Secretary and Treasurer (who may also be class reps)
