A super start to school life!

What a wonderful first few weeks we have had in Junior Infants! We have had so much fun making new friends and learning lots of new things.

We have learned lots of new songs like '5 in the bed' and '5 little ducks'. We have been singing songs as Gaeilge too. We are especially liking our new song 'Rothaí an bhus'.

In art we have been working on our fine motor skills. We discussed our favourite colours and made paper dolls to hang in our window. During circle time we spoke about our Golden Rules. This week we were focusing on our listening skills.

We really enjoyed reading the story of Little Red Riding Hood together. We acted out some of the scenes and sequenced the story as a whole class.

Last week we had our first P.E. session with Conor. We played lots of games and practiced our balancing skills with some beanbags. We particularly enjoyed yoga and our mindfulness walks and are excited for lots more during Well Being Week next week.

We have worked very hard on writing our names this week and loved our exciting writing stations. We used rice, paint, playdough and highlighters to practice. Check us out in action...

A big "Comhghairdeas" to our Réalt na Seachtaine, Ewan and Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine, Anna from last week! Maith sibh!

Take a peek at our class photos from earlier this week...

Well done everyone on a fantastic start to the year. Keep your eyes peeled for lots more updates for Well Being Week next week!
